We all love a well-work book. But what to do with badly decayed books that still have a nice feel to them? I use the covers to create one of a kind journals and blank books, giving a second life to vintage covers. You can fill the “new” book with stories and tales of your own.
This book is covered in what remains of Alice in Orchestra, which features stringed instruments, a lot of patina, and the old endpapers — with the original owner’s handwritten bookplate. I used thick, natural linen thread to bind the 256 pages of fountain pen friendly paper together, resulting in a book that opens easily and is incredibly durable.
