Books by J.F. Gamber

A Baltimore City native, Johnny Gamber grew up in Hampden and lives with his family in lower Roland Park. He holds a PhD in philosophy, with a specialization in Nietszsche and American Pragmatism.

One third of the Erasable podcast, Johnny has been casting that pod with his two co-hosts since 2014. He ran Pencil Revolution as a blog beginning in 2005, until converting the site to a commerce and information site about bookbinding.

Johnny binds all of his books by hand, using only manual tools and careful work. He began binding in earnest in 2021, after publishing the zines Pencil Revolution and The Pen Post.

Custom bindings and commissions are his favorite work.
