The construction is based on a “conservation” single section structure that is durable, opens flat, and allows for a variety of cover materials. I used brown bookcloth and an American-made card called “Paver Red”. The simple endpages get their earthy texture from Neenah’s Astrodesigns line. A parchment label printed in pigment-based inks is the sole external decoration, while Thoreau’s sketch of a scarlet maple illuminates the title page.
