Vegan Leather Longstitch Journal
Vegan Leather Longstitch Journal
I have been searching for years for a faux leather that is thick, pliable-yet-stiff-ish, matte textured, and strong enough for bookbinding -- oh, and not smell like rocket fuel. These books are covered in 2mm thick, PU based (not vinyl/PVC) faux leather. The inside is soft, but not fuzzy, and I the material strikes a great balance between stiffness/beefiness and flexibility.
This particular book is a BEAST, with almost 300 pages of fountain pen friendly paper. This sucker just feels substantial. To boot, the strap that holds it all together completely moves out of your way for writing, without buttons, beads, or snaps, for a lovely and clean look. This material and binding can more than keep up with how long it's going to take you to fill this Chonk up!

Dating at least as far back as the late Medieval period, this "stationery" binding was developed to be simple, durable, and portable. Combined with modern materials, you have a journal that will *not* bust, that shows off its non-adhesive binding, and that opens wide for you right from the start.
