Each of these large journals is covered in Kraft-Tex, stitched with a heavy linen thread, and is full of a ton of lined Parchment. This 24lb vegan "parchment" is absolutely lovely for pen and ink, and the warm copper compliments a lot of my favorite inks. I bound each book with a different longstitch pattern, but each will open easily, won't bust, and you can enjoy the visible stitching along the spine. Finally, I used riveted buttons that are a little smaller than usual to keep them out of the way, to keep everything together. Choose your gem below, and remember that there is only one of each.

Please read on for some history of this binding method, as well as details about your particular book.

Size: Approx 8 X 5 inches

Paper: 192 dot grid pages of 24lb vegan parchment in "copper"; made in the USA; very fountain pen friendly

Binding: Late medieval longstitch (6 variations); sewn with 12/3 natural linen thread from Northern Ireland, waxed with The Good Stuff from the Central Maryland Beekeepers Association.

Cover: Kraft-Tex, a cellulose based fabric that is tough, vegan, and is even machine washable. These colors are hand-dyed in Germany.

Closure: Riveted brass snap buttons (stamped by hand)

Dating at least as far back as the late Medieval period, this "stationery" binding was developed to be simple, durable, and portable. Combined with modern materials, you have a journal that will *not* bust, that shows off its non-adhesive binding, and that opens wide for you right from the start.
