Bradel bound books are similar to casebound in that the cover and textblock are created separately and then joined together with adhesive. The German Bradel binding begins with joining the spine stiffener with the cover boards before cloth and/or paper is applied. This makes it possible to more accurately measure the fore-edge of the book and makes a lovely French groove more pronounced in the book's hinge. I measure my Bradel bound books to open especially easily, white remaining extremely durable, and I cover them with quality materials for a long life in your bag, on your desk, or stored away on a shelf.
