I Missed Blogging

I Missed Blogging

(Pictured: a pair of hybrid Coptic/Ethiopian books on their way to B in California right now.)

In the summer of 2005, I was studying hard for my doctoral prelims, dealing with a deep depression and some severe anxiety, and I needed something to ground me a little. I was already blogging in 2004, and I thought it would be fun to start a pencil blog the whole time. By July 2005, I was ready. Thanks to some Big Name friends who shared the link, Pencil Revolution had a lovely little audience. I enjoyed sharing what I loved about pencils -- and the information and stories that readers would share. By the time that this domain switched to a commerce site in 2022, no one read blogs anymore. The database is floating around somewhere, in case I felt the urge to bring the blog back someday. But I’d rather blog a little about books and bookbinding.

So, here we go, with a nod to my slow DSL connection twenty years ago and to the craft to which I devote most of my time these days.
